I already have a website and I want to keep its graphics.
We can adapt our programs to your existing website.
But, we cannot adapt Net-Folio to existing Flash websites.

I already have a domain name, may I keep it?
Yes.
It is as simple as rerouting the domain names from current servers (DNS) to Net-Folio servers.
If you do not have the technical knowledge for that, we can do it for free.
Moreover, you will keep all your email addresses. |

I would like graphics different from the free one.
Our web-designers are specialised in website designing for photographers, as well as online image banks.
Please, feel free to give us your specifications and your graphic charter.
We will study your project feasibility together.

May I have specific functionalities?
Yes.
Your work habits are all different, so are your tools.
So, we must adapt to your needs, and not the contrary.
Most of our clients have already asked for developing some specificity.

Should I have to cut the images before integrating them?
The answer is no, "with some reserves".
Net-Folio server resizes your images into thumbnail images, and into small images to the dimensions required by the layout.
In the absolute, you do not have to worry about thumbnail image and small image dimensions.
In practice:
If your images are 50 Mb each, the FTP transfer times to the server will be very, very long.
Thus, this has no interest, except for Ruby and Stock offers, for online image bank where high-definition source images shall be downloaded afterwards.
Moreover, the cutting times will monopolise a part of the server processor resources. That is why we recommend for all our offers, other than Ruby and Stock (online image bank), to avoid JPEG files heavier than 2 Mb. |

Can I integrate images by lot, up to several hundreds in one time?
Yes.
Integrating your images in lot is done in 2 steps.
1 – Through FTP transfer software, you upload your image lot onto the server, into your disk space.
2 – Through the administration interface, you integrate the whole of the images in one time.
That is very simple, and extremely fast.
Test performed with 100 low-definition images.
The folder is 16 Mb.
The ADSL line is 2Mbits.
The FTP transfer time is about 4 minutes.
The integrating time by the server (thumbnail image and small image resizing, IPTC import) is 80 seconds long.
In less than 6 minutes, you can have your 100 images presented online. |

Is IPTC information retrieved?
Yes.
The IPTC field retrieving is very complete and skeletal coded in Gold, Ruby, and Stock offers of online image bank. |

Can my images be hacked?
Not with a watermark.
But this considerably affects your image readability.
Within Net-Folio administration, you can set up an overlaying of 15% opacity watermark representing the copyright ©.
You can also manage your own watermark.
If you do not do it, your image may be copied through screen capture.
What shall we do with a small image of 600x600 px?
In 300 dpi, we can print the image in 6 x 6 cm.
By incorporating this image into Photoshop, a dishonest person could make a bad 1/8th of a page, and at maximum a very bad 1/4th of page.
Using it in the net is easier, though.
Everyone has to make his or her own decision!

May I sell my images, postcards, printing, etc. online?
Yes.
This is possible starting from our SILVER offer at €49.00 /month!
Your client will print a purchase order and send it with the payment.
Most of the banks offer online payment solutions that we can integrate into our offers.
This has to be estimated since these solutions are technically different, and some are longer to install than others.
The bank solutions imply distance-selling authorisation (DSA), granted on request file.
Some other secured payment solutions without DSA exist, such as Paypal.
We install Paypal for free. |
